Cold front brings light snowfalls to the central ranges
Sunday June 20, 2004
Taralga/Gurnang
Situation
Despite an unexpectedly dry atmosphere behind the front Taralga and Crookwell each received a dusting of snow early on Sunday morning with light snow continuing to fall until mid morning. The higher ground between the two towns received up to 1cm.
The locality of Gurnang (north of Taralga) which is higher again and well exposed to the west received 10-15cm with 5cm lying on the road. During the time I was there (mid to late morning) snow fell continuously with occasional moderate showers. The temperature fluctuated between -1.5°C and 0°C.
